The Mick Series is my most "popish" work, most with poems (also furniture and sculpture.) Mickey Mouse is the biggest American pop symbol next to Coke. He is an enigma, with good and bad aspects (I've invented with tongue in cheek.) I just never know what Mick will do next. He was in a food blender last painting!

Miguelito el Raton (Mickey the Mouse)

A creation of the Disney folks.
A cartoon that dances and sings,
A mouse that funny-talk jokes.
Our hero is a man-made thing,

But Mickey can have a false ring,
He glamorizes stuff with limitation.
He represents the plastic thing,
Instead of squeaky-cuddly creation.

So have caution with the mouse,
Let him cheer the world you're in.
But return and find nature's house,
With wonder-bursting-bright again.
